    Dr Mark grew up in Perth and attended Medical School at the University of Western Australia, achieving distinctions and prizes in both medicine and surgery. His internship, residency and basic surgical training were undertaken at Royal Perth Hospital, followed by 5 years of fellowship plastic surgery training. 



    After completing his plastic surgery training requirements, he spent 12 months in an advanced fellowship position in Oxford (United Kingdom), which included teaching undergraduates at Trinity College, University of Oxford. While working in private practice since 2002, Dr Mark also spent three years in the role of Head of Department of Plastic Surgery at Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital and in Consultant Surgeon positions at Royal Perth and Fremantle Hospitals. 

    Today, Mark not only works from his Subiaco practice, but balances his time delivering dedicated plastic surgery service (and breast cancer reconstruction) to regional Western Australia. He regularly provides clinics and operating sessions in Albany on the South Coast, 500km from the nearest plastic surgery units.

    His commitment to ongoing research saw him develop a new and innovative breast reconstruction technique known as the scarless Latissimus dorsi breast reconstruction procedure, which is well-regarded internationally.

    As a trusted industry expert, Dr Mark believes not only in providing exceptional patient care and results today, but in sharing his career experience with others. He is proud to do so today, appointed to the Court of Examiners for the Royal Australian College of Surgeons.

    With a desire to create a lasting impact across the industry, Dr Mark was elected to the governing Council of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2012. He served with the society in a number of roles including Chair of the Ethics, Chair of Advocacy and is former Treasurer. Whilst on the national Council, Dr Mark has been instrumental in the establishment of the Australasian Journal of Plastic Surgery and is the inaugural Editor-In-Chief.

    You’ll find Dr Mark spending any spare time he finds with his wife Briony, and his 3 adult children. He shares his passion for his medical practice with other interests including his past time as a truffle farmer, a veteran hockey player and keen fly fisherman.

    The Interplast project serves various island nations and disadvantaged regions, and Dr Mark Lee was excited to collaborate with local plastic surgeons and anaesthetists to offer vital surgical services. Supporting procedures included cleft lip and palate repairs, tumour removals, and burn scar treatments for children and adults who otherwise could not afford them.

    Dr Mark Lee, in collaboration with plastic surgeon Tony Baker, anaesthetist Ross Ireland and Barney Creswell, has worked to repair cleft lips, palates, and reconstructive facial deformities. Together, they have performed surgeries on over 50 children and adults across Tanzania.

    Operation Smile aims to perform life-changing surgeries in developing countries around the world. Dr Mark Lee has participated in over 9 overseas missions, where a team of 25 surgeons travel to remote locations to carry out cleft lip and palate reconstruction procedures for those in need.

With a background spanning surgical, oncology, mental health and community care, she takes a compassionate approach to patient wellbeing, supporting them through every stage of their surgical journey. After two decades in Sydney, and time living in Italy and Saudi Arabia, Donna has recently returned home to Perth, where she enjoys staying active and spending time with loved ones.
