Pregnancy and childbirth can severely impact your abdominal muscles – an issue which may be impossible to resolve through exercise and diet. Abdominoplasty aims to restore the position of the central muscles, which can dramatically improve your profile.  This will often involve the removal and repair of excess skin and stretch marks.

There has also been an increase in cases of extensive weight loss due to stomach banding surgery. This can result in unsightly excess skin remaining over the arms, thighs and neck which can be removed with procedures such as brachioplasty (arms), thigh reduction and platysmaplasty (neck).

The following Abdominoplasty procedures are available:

  • “Fleur de lis” Abdominoplasty
  • Radical Abdominoplasty
  • Mini (Short Scar) Abdominoplasty
  • Post Caesarean Abdominoplasty
  • Post Lap Banding Abdominoplasty
  • Liposuction Abdominoplasty

A body lift is a form of body contouring surgery that combines an abdominoplasty with removal of excess skin and tissue from the lower back, and a lifting of the buttocks. Dr Mark Lee will advise you of the most appropriate body lift procedures for your body and desired results.

The following body procedures are available:
– Body lift
– Buttock lift
– Abdominoplasty/tummy tuck

An upper arm reduction reshapes the underneath of the upper arm from the armpit to the elbow, resulting in a smoother, more toned appearance. It reduces the appearance of loose skin, targeting an area difficult to improve with exercise. The procedure best suited to you may be an arm reduction, or what we call a short scar brachioplasty.

Liposuction can be effective at reducing resistant pockets of fat that can’t be shifted with diet and exercise. Liposuction is not a weight loss technique, but a way to sculpt and contour your body. Most commonly these pockets are on the inner thighs and hips in women and “love handles” and abdomen in men.

We use ultrasound energy to break up the fat then remove it with fine tubes placed through very small incisions. As a result, scars from liposuction are minimal.

Patients need to wear compression garments after liposuction to reduce swelling and avoid loose skin. It is therefore often best to have this procedure performed in the cooler months of the year.

Liposuction is often combined with other contouring procedures such as abdominoplasty, breast reduction and gynaecomastia surgery.

The following liposuction procedures are available:

  • Suction Assisted Liposuction
  • Ultrasonic Liposuction
  • Lipoplasty
  • Liposculpture
  • Fat Transfer
  • Fat Grafting

The upper thigh is often a very difficult spot for women to lose weight. A thigh reduction removes the excess skin and fat from the upper inner thigh. Dr Mark Lee will place the incision points in the least visible areas to ensure minimal scarring.

Abnormal male breast formation can be a result of a number of factors, such as hormone imbalance. For male breast reduction procedures, Dr Mark Lee uses a combination of ultrasonic liposuction, short scar direct excision and (if needed) skin reduction reduce the breast size. Compression garments are essential – therefore you may wish to consider surgery during the cooler months.

Male breast reduction procedures available:
– Ultrasonic liposuction
– Subcutaneous Mastectomy
– Male Breast Reduction
