A consultation with Dr Mark Lee is the first step when you are considering reconstructive surgery.

Breast cancer reconstruction is a surgical procedure performed after a mastectomy to restore the breast’s shape and appearance. This can be achieved using silicone implants, which are inserted to restructure the breast. Alternatively, the procedure may involve the use of tissue typically taken from areas like the abdomen or thighs, which is then used to rebuild the breast. In some cases, a combination of these methods may be utilised to achieve results.
Dr Mark offers the following reconstructive procedures:
- Latissimus Dorsi Breast Reconstruction
- Free TRAM Breast Reconstruction
- DIEP TRAM Breast Reconstruction
- Autologous Harvest Latissimus Dorsi Breast Reconstruction
- Extended Latissimus Dorsi Breast Reconstruction
- Tissue Expander Breast Reconstruction
- Post Lumpectomy Reconstruction
- Nipple Reconstruction
Dr Mark has developed a new and innovative breast reconstruction technique for minimally invasive breast reconstruction surgery. The Scarless Latissimus Dorsi breast reconstruction procedure allows the patient’s muscle flap to be effectively harvested without resulting in scars on the patient’s back. This technique has gained international attention and has been published in academic journals and presented to the medical community.
With at least 2 in 3 Australians being diagnosed with skin cancer in their lifetime, it is the third most common cancer diagnosis in Australia. Unlike other types of cancers, melanoma can be seen on the skin, allowing for possible detection in its early stages. Depending on the stage of melanoma, the most common treatment is surgery.
Dr Mark offers the following surgical procedures for advanced melanoma:
- Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsies
Surgical procedures are conducted to determine whether a skin cancer has spread to the body’s lymphatic system. During the procedure, the sentinel lymph node is identified, removed and then examined to assess whether melanoma cells are present. - Advanced Lymphatic Clearance Surgery
In cases where melanoma has been identified as having spread to the sentinel nodes in the body, Dr Mark performs lymph node clearance surgery to remove all of the lymph nodes in the target area. For melanoma, there are three types of lymph node clearance areas – axillary (armpit), inguinal (groin) and neck.

Reconstructive microsurgery requires delicate technique to be performed to repair and reconstruct tissue using microscopes. Often applied in cases where small blood vessels and nerves need to be reconnected in cases such as after cancer or trauma, including reattachment of severed limbs.
